My reasons for publishing evidence on this blog, at this pre-Inquest stage

Normally, one would go to a lawyer, and open a civil case against the Minister of Police.  I do not have funds for a lawyer at present. Human Rights organizations have been uninterested or unwilling to assist – including Legal Resources Centre, Wits Law Clinic and the South African Human Rights Commission (SAHRC). My income as a pensioner puts me outside the range of those who qualify for Pro Bono assistance arranged via the Cape Law Society.

Apart from getting a lawyer, one would not normally divulge information that one’s opponents could use, to prepare their own case.  The Inquest for the unnatural death of Michael Theodore Volkwyn , Athlone CAS 255/5/2015 could still take months before it gets to court.

On the other hand, the executor for Michael’s estate and his legal assistant seem prepared to sell Michael’s house as soon as they can.

Barbara and I know that selling the house will result in the destruction of physical evidence. We would still have photographic and other evidence, but the physical evidence could be lost forever.  It is for this reason that I believe I have no choice but to publish a significant amount of evidence at this stage.
